March of 1964 marked the beginning of Podolinsky Equipment LTD., then called Podolinsky Farm Equipment. In an old garage and grocery store, just across the road from the current location, Ludvik and Anne Podolinsky, with the help of their children, opened a John Deere Dealership.

This location served the family business for the next seven years. At that time Podolinsky Farm Equipment relocated to their current location, the southwest corner of Petrolia Line and Forest Road. The next 40 years saw many structures on the property, but the first was built in 1971, the inside work: shelving, shop areas and two offices, where all constructed by Ludvik’s father and Uncle Martin. The old parts shelves were just slid over the snow-covered roadway into the new building where Anne proceeded to put each part away into the new parts bins and record the location manually. This new building was opened in style with a Grand Opening like no other. Wes and his Country Kings provided the entertainment, while the dancers polished up the new cement floor in the workshop all evening. The OPP even stopped in to make sure everyone was behaving!

With the expanding John Deere equipment, the Podolinsky family soon realized that their current building was not large enough. In 1973 the family purchased a building at the International Plowing Match in Alvinston, and had it moved and attached to the rear of the current building. This accommodated the ever growing equipment.

In 1981 Podolinsky Farm Equipment simply outgrew their space again. This time the solution was to build a large building west of the old blue building. In December of 1981, the business was moved into the newest structure on site that hosted a large showroom and offices around the perimeter. The parts department was located in the south end of the showroom, with the parts warehouse on the west side of the new building, and a repair shop covering the east half.

The large combine shop, with overhead doors on three sides, was added to the south in 1993. The John Deere equipment had reached very large proportions by then , and this new addition allowed for the equipment to be worked on in doors.

The current showroom was added in 2002. This showroom is capable of displaying the largest of combines, contains a huge retail section for the parts department, including a large toy corner. The previous showroom is now dedicated to displaying Arctic Cat, which Podolinsky Equipment LTD. started selling in 2006.
